Penelope progress

Worked on this picture again. Its nice and meditative to work on. I'm kind of glad its not finished so I can come back and just meditate in it. Though I am kinda annoyed now and want to start and really work to finish and improve it a lot. I just have to wait and see how much time I have. Photoshop in mac is ehh. I don't know why, maybe its that I can see my desktop as I draw, it just moves weird.

Artrage sketch test

Here is a sketch done in artrage. Its a stock image from http://lisajen-stock.deviantart.com/art/Feeling-Sad-4-84091444, I used it for the lines then tried to figure out some lighting stuff with it on my own and the pens that artrage has. I'm missing photoshop... I'm gonna work on the Penelope pic some more next.

That asian girl

So I got the program ArtRage today and just tested it out and doodled and came up with this and liked it. And had lots of ands in the last sentence. I wonder how it will progress if any. But I have a feeling for it and want to work on it, so here it is. Well, looking at the art programs I have let me see how I should do this now... photoshop for penelope, which I like working with ps for that picture, corel painter im not really using but maybe I could do this picture in corel, artrage started this picture, its a good fast loading program to get ideas out, sketchbookpro for the comic, I'm kinda just liking that one for line drawings basically, and manga studio for ummm manga when I go to draw more. I really gotta pick a program and go with it or I'll be stuck learning a whole lots of stuff and not going anywhere. I think I'll just stick with photoshop and work on that more and test this also, and when i get further finish it in corel painter. I guess I'm sticking with my mac programs it seems.

Of predator and Prey

Finally got around to finishing [using that term loosely here] these comic pages. Yep thats all 3 pages of them. It's a story by Jasmine Henderson. I scanned it in and drew over it in Sketchbook Pro. I've never used it before but the interface intrigued me and was neat so I decided to try it on this. The program is kind of bitchy though or I just haven't used it enough, some neat things while others aren't that great but overall I like it. Though I do kind of am starting to dread its ability with layers as it doesn't seem that good with layers and I had a few headaches along the way. I like how this comic came out with this program though. I want to add some action lines and put the dialog from Jasmine's story into these pages. Its just a short snippet from it, I picked this scene for the homework where the main character leaves his room to check on his grandfather and it leads to drama! D:

I want to go in and do the entire story, but screw it I'm not gonna use sketchbook again, atleast not for comic stuff. It will probably photoshop for lines and corel painter for colors, though I'm liking this sin city colorish style.
